Tawny Stores

Marple is growing a very special place in our hearts. A lovely little walk from the station down the canal and hidden on the canal side at Hawk Green, chef Beth Hammond has opened Tawny Stores, a kitchen, deli and wine bar.

Opened in Spring 2024, Tawny Stores became a destination for seasonal plates, focaccia and sourdough bakes, speciality coffee and a tightly packed shelf of wines and deli goods. The room is small, brick walled and warm. You have Macclesfield on one side of the canal and Stockport on the other.

Rack

A sandwich OG for Stockport, owners Josh and Rhys opened up in 2021 and rapidly took over the sandwich game in SK1. Since then, they have expanded into Sale and the City Centre.

Breakfast, brunch or lunch, they have got you covered. We're still grieving some of their specials like 'The James' and 'The Goat'. One things for sure, we've never had a bad sandwich from this place and we can confidently say, we've had over a 100 sandwiches here.

Stockport Market

Stockport's beating heart since 1861. Authentic, no fuss, just proper food and proper people. The kind of place where stallholders know your name, the tea's strong enough to stand a spoon in, and you can still get a bacon butty for under a fiver (£2.50 to be exact)

A mix of old-school traders, fresh-faced independents, and a community that shows up rain or shine. Markets like this are rare now, they're living proof that food tastes better when it comes with a story, a smile, and change left in your pocket.
